It was a "Duh" Moment...

So while I was away in April visiting my family in Alabama and teaching at their annual Ladies Array I was awarded the Versatile Blogger Award from a dear friend, Jill Boyd, at Jill Boyd's Place. Thanks so much, Jill...and I'm sorry.

I didn't do much blogging that weekend because I was away from my Mac and my parents have a PC (*GASP*). I didn't realize how much the two systems are DIFFERENT until I was trying to upload pictures from my camera. For the next thirty minutes I read a book, filed my fingernails, watched some TV (had to indulge in some old black and whites on Turner Classic Movies)...all at the same time. Just kidding.

That wasn't my "Duh" moment, though....this was: I didn't know what to do with the award. I thought it over and decided to wait until I got back to my Mac and my normal, hectic, crazy life before addressing it. Silly me. On a good day I can't complete a thought. What made me think I'd remember to complete some of the thoughts I thought while I was gone? (Did I just make a tongue-twister? How talented is that?)

So today while catching up on the lives of my friends scattered around the US by reading their blogs it hit me: Oh yeah, DUH! Jill wrote the instructions on her blog. And I call myself a teacher...

The Versatile Blogger Award is a pretty awesome award from a pretty awesome friend. I think my life is crazy, full of house, husband, kids, piano, church, groceries, deals, blogging, homeschooling, babysitting, Thirty-one...it doesn't even come close to what she does. I'm so thankful to have her as my friend.

And now to share the rules that come with this award that I never followed until now. They are as follows:
  1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers who are relatively new to blogging or whose blogs you enjoy the most.
  2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
  3. Thank the blogger who nominated you
  4. Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your blog post.
I've done numbers three and four already so I'll go back to numbers one and two. Nothing like going out of order, right? Just wanted to see if you were paying attention. Instead of nominating 15 bloggers I'm only going to nominate one. Why? If Jill did it so can I...

I'd like to nominate April at Content 2 Be for her creative recipes, patterns, and shopping deals. She's fabulous!

And now on to what you've all been waiting for....(drum roll) seven random facts about myself:
  1. I HATE folding and putting away laundry. Sorting, washing, and drying are not the problem...it's the FOLDING, People!
  2. I don't talk for the first fifteen minutes after I've woken up in the morning. I have to wait for my brain to kick in with my body, which is usually after the first cup of coffee.
  3. I almost bought a sports car during January of 2006 because I thought I was destined for spinsterhood. Two months later I met the man of my dreams and we were married five months later.
  4. I would fly once a month to anywhere in the world if I had enough money. I LOVE to travel.
  5. I can read a book while I iron, wash dishes, fix my hair, make dinner, talk on the phone (although that can become quite awkward)
  6. I only gained around 15 pounds both times I was pregnant with my two kids.
  7. I can still wear clothes I wore in high school--yeah, that's scary. Styles have changed a wee bit since then.
And now that you know you may never come back to read my blog again. *sigh*

  1. LOL... I loved reading this post! Especially the seven things about you, and I have to say Ditto! To #'s 1, 2, 4, and 7! You should periodically post a few things about yourself like that - it's a great idea!

  2. The sad thing is I had to rack my brain to come up with those seven things. :)

  3. I can read a book while doing all those things, too, but the results aren't always what I'd hoped for. : )
