Gifting on Mother's Day...

It's amazing what kind of gift ideas one can find on Pinterest. Take for example this pin I found a few weeks ago...

The idea seems so simple and my first thought was What a great idea for Mother's Day!

Scrabble letters are easy to find on Amazon...500 pieces for $10. That was the easy part. What to glue the letters on proved to be my nemesis.

At first I used regular scrapbook paper and craft tacky glue. The paper bowed up and crinkled in all the wrong places.

Next came cardstock scrapbook paper and a hot glue gun....with the same result: wrinkled paper that wouldn't even fit in a frame.

By this time (two weeks later) being so frustrated, I was about to deem this project an epic "Pinterest Fail."

Then seemingly at the last minute, and an idea from a most unlikely source (aka my Mom), my husband and I (by this time he was doing everything he could to help me regain some sanity) tried out a new background, and the results were so much better than we every expected....

...all our names: Mom, Dad, kids, grandkids....all together.

I think her smile says it all...
