My stitches were removed this last Thursday. I promise...the after picture is waaayyy better than the one a few posts ago, and shouldn't make anyone sick...
That's much better than two weeks ago.
My doctor, however, had a mixed prognosis. After prescribing an oral antibiotic (to prevent a bone infection) and a topical antibiotic, she mentioned low capillary action at the end of the index finger, limited movement and joint pain due to swelling, and the possibility that I may never regain feeling again from the extensive nerve damage. Apparently there is still much healing that needs to go on under the skin.
In the meantime, I've found out just how much I actually use my left hand. Folding clothes, washing dishes, making the bed, typing on the computer...I went from efficient to bumbling in a matter of seconds.
Always keep two hands on the hedge trimmer when trimming your bushes! It's amazing how fast one moment can alter your entire summer...or life, for that matter.
On a lighter note, one thing I have been able to do is make personalized shirts for our VBS coming up in a week. My sister designed this one...
...for this obvious reason: Coca-Cola is to her is like coffee is for me. A definite must-have.
My Dear Hubby designed a dressier version to wear while greeting visitors...
Business seems to be booming for which I am thankful.
Still needing a shirt? Please let me know. You provide a pre-washed t-shirt of your choosing and $5, I will do the cutting and ironing.
