I've started to notice that the older I get, the smaller, yet more expensive, my birthday presents become.
I mentioned this to my husband last week who promptly reminded me that that the van he bought me for my 40th birthday last year, was not just the most expensive, but also the largest gift he's every given me.
Besides the van, my presents are getting smaller and smaller...I mean like fitting-in-the-palm-of-your-hand smaller. I can even go far as to say that this present is probably the smartest one I've ever asked for: noise cancelling ear buds.
And when I say they cancel all noise, I mean I couldn't hear anyone! It. Was. AWESOME!
Yes, this means that once again, we've come to my birthday. I am no longer crested the top of the hill, I am on my way down the other side. And I have the graying hair to prove it!
My son's birthday follows closely after mine; and this year he officially becomes a teenager. I'm not ready for this.
Not. At. All.
This week is a busy time for us: we're celebrating birthdays, closing out another school year, and saying good-bye to the senior class.
This is always a bittersweet time for me. On one hand I am excited to see these graduates begin a new chapter in their lives, while on the other hand I am sad to see them go. School just won't be the same without them.
So while today's post may be a bit on the shorter side, our lives are as busy as ever. Next week we'll catch up and get right back on track.
Simply Celebrating the Close of Another Year,
