Happy early birthday to me!
We're still a good five weeks out from when I turn 29 for the tenth year in row, but I really...really could not pass up this gift for me...
Meet my new Cricut Explore Air 2...and let me just say it is AWESOME!
I had a smaller one that had been given to me a few years ago with some cartridges of different fonts. But lately as I've been expanding my Bulletin Boards board on Pinterest, I was finding that many teachers use their Cricuts for all kinds of deocrations for their classrooms. You can actually go online into Cricut Design Space and create whatever you want for the machine to cut...no cartridges needed!
So I went online and did some research as to the best machine, applied some money earned from taking senior pictures, and gifted the rest as an early birthday gift for myself.
One of the first things I made was...
...a paper flower! Super easy to download, cut, and then glue... thirty minutes tops!
This went here...
...my final bulletin board for the year. Oh, and the letters I cut out using my Cricut, too!
It's one of my favorite boards for the year.
But today....today, I tried something new....
...I made myself a shirt! I had seen this on Pinterest and decided to give it a try with a $4 shirt from Walmart and some Cricut white glitter iron-on vinyl.
Now I'm off to my rummage through my daughter's clothes to see what else I can embellish. I'm completely addicted!
If you have a Cricut and are looking for some free svg files to download into Design Space and cut, check out my Cricut Cutting board HERE. And, as always, if you have any ideas, send them my way. I feel a whole new world of creativity opening up!
Simply Creating,
I really don't have time to get addicted to anything else but it looks like fun. There is a machine called Accu-quilt. It is something similar to this for cutting material and is very accurate. I'll get one someday.
