To Stay In or To Go Out...

I've come to learn something about myself this summer. No, it's not that hedge trimmers are dangerous...although they really are. I do have the scars from a whopping total of 33 stitches (not all at one time, mind you)...
...to prove that trimming bushes is better left to the professionals.

Of course I've been told it looks just like a scarecrow. And just in time for Fall, no less!

What I've actually learned is that I am a total hermit during the summer. I literally could stay home all day, every day, and be perfectly content.

Unfortunately, my kids tend to go a little stir crazy. There's only so many times you can ride your bike up and down the street before the scenery gets a little boring. Or only so many times you can shoot or be shot with a Nerf gun before an all out war ensues.

You try explaining to your neighbors why it sounds like we're reenacting the Civil War in the back yard.

It's truly brother against brother...with a sister thrown in the middle of it.

Today I took pity on my kids being couped up in the house, and headed off to Sam's to pick up some much needed supplies.  As an added bonus, we picked up my Mom on the way.

My youngest was having such a good time, walking with Grammie, pointing out all the new, exciting things that were for sale...
...he naturally put his arm around her to show her the good stuff. And this photo?

Priceless!

It's times like these where I'm thankful I actually got out of the house.

Simply Stayin' Inside,
