This has officially become the summer of the great purge here at my house!
I mentioned a few days ago HERE the amount of garbage I was now putting out at the street, something that the garbage pick-up team is so thankful for, I'm sure. Two days ago I started cleaning off the countertops in my kitchen and scrubbing down the backsplash. This was with the intent of cleaning the cabinet doors the next day.
But I got a little sidetracked when I went to start a load of laundry.
That sidetrack led to cleaning out the five bins above my washing machine, scrubbing the walls and baseboards, dusting furiously, and mopping the floors. One bag of trash and two garbage bags for the thrift store later, and I'm now ready for the repairman to come fix my washer.
Let's just say it has...issues.
From the laundry room I went to put something away in a cabinet in the kitchen when, once again, I became sidetracked by the mess that greeted me. It seemed to yell: Hey, clean me out!
So I did.
Two garbage bags later and ta-da...
...and now we have order from chaos.
That now complete, the cabinet that holds my baking ingredients started calling my name: Kari, come clean me....
Guess what I did? I rolled up my sleeves, flexed my fingers, and worked some magic!
Actually, I dumped everything onto the counter and filled another garbage bag, all while accidentally dusting my kitchen with flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. I even went so far as to pull out my label maker and label some of my containers...AND order a few more from Amazon.
Now this....this is a bee-u-ti-ful sight:
I'm turning into a regular Martha Stewart....one with three bottles of distilled white vinegar.
Why do I have so many bottles of white vinegar?
So that's my progress report for today. And now I'm off to scrub some cabinet doors.
