Children are so...uncomplicated.
I'm sure that wasn't the first word that came to your mind.
But what adult would have the confidence to fall asleep like this...
This is the same adorable little boy that would look up at me with these huge brown eye (which he got from me), fold his hands under his chin, and say, "Peez, Mommy? Peez?"That was my kryptonite, and it basically got him whatever he wanted.
Recently he has been learning about the very first president of the United States. His assignment at the end of the lesson was to write four sentences to sum up what he had learned. Let me prepare you by saying you need to forget everything you thought you knew about Mr. Washington, because this...this is what his life was all about...
Good 'ol George. His big beautiful life of sixty-seven years summed up in his love for math, his life on a farm, his time as our president, and his death from a cold.
See? Uncomplicated.
In this crazy, complicated world, children remind us that sometimes we need to just drop the fluff, and spell it out as simply as possible.
Then fall asleep curled up in your dog-eared blanket without a care in the world.
Here's to an uncomplicated week...
Simply,
