Finding Gems...

A few weeks ago when we took our older kiddos to Six Flags I found myself in a little bit of a dilema. Normally I wear blue jean skirts when I'm not in school but a jean skirt would not be the best article of clothing to wear and be modest while riding roller coasters.

The only other option available was a worn out pair of plaid coulotts from 16 years ago...I wear them to work out in and to play the occasional volleball game. They are also in pretty sorry shape; like, the pleats that were once sewn in the front and back are no longer there. The blue paint on one of the legs was from when I painted the front of our house in Texas before we sold it to move three states away. And the holes? I called my mom, a talented seamstress, on the eve of our trip a little panicked. My only pair of coulotts needed some TLC!

Plus my husband was not a big fan of them; and to be honest, I really felt like I'm a little too old to be wearing coulotts. It's all skirts for me!

Then I found out about this website called Modesty In Motion based out in California. Look at this adorable skirt/coulotte I bought...

This material is a blue denim and is so soft! It looks like a skirt but....

TA DA! There's actually a pair of coulotts underneath! The back looks just like this.

So I've gone back and ordered a second pair in a black denim and can't wait until they come in.

If you get a chance, please check them out! The lady who runs this business is super friendly and the choices for fabric color are so many! AND she also makes this same pattern using the same material used in making athletic shorts.  You can find a wide variety of styles like women's split skirts, women's single panel coulotts, skirt style coulotts, women's box pleat front and back, and then the pair like mine called "woman's double panel front and back."

She even has modest skirts: casual anywhere skirts and also active wear skirts. I may have bought one of those, too!

Totally worth the money!
