My exercise could be anything from a workout on dvd, the elliptical, or a brisk 20 minutes walk through my neighborhood.
That may sound like I'm always active, so just in case you get the wrong idea, let me just say that I don't always work out. Depending on my husband's schedule, we usually skip Saturdays and Sundays, opting to be more active Monday through Friday.

But recently My Dear Hubby surprised me with Apple watches for the both of us, and a feature on the watch is an Activity Tracker. This tracker monitors three things: your activity, your exercise, and your standing.
For the most part my month has been pretty...blah...
You can probably guess which day was the day after VBS...
There wasn't a whole lot of activity going on that day.
For this last week My Dear Hubby and I were feeling a bit motivated to close all three rings every day. But there was a slight problem. Even though we have the same calorie goal to burn, my heart rate is different than his; meaning he tends to burn calories just by sitting on the couch. Me, on the other hand, burns the last one hundred calories at 11 o'clock at night as I "speed walk" in place...in the dark...where no one can see me doing this ridiculousness.
I scoff when an alert pops up on my watch to close my activity ring by taking a brisk fifteen minute walk. I've already taken my thirty minute walk (almost two miles) earlier in the day. Why would I go for another fifteen minutes?
If only I burned calories while sitting...
In return for all this motivation we earn different awards on our app. After seven days (including getting up on Sunday at 6:30 to exercise) I am now the proud owner of a few more digital medallions...
So maybe my hiding in the dark, swinging my arms rapidly back and forth, is paying off...especially if my clothes start fitting a little better and the weight is a little lighter on the scale.
Oh the things we funny creatures do for a set of rings!
Simply Keep Moving, My Friends!
